The Barondale Story
In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when much of the world slowed down, Peter Muskett and Brian Foden saw an opportunity to turn adversity into innovation. Peter, a retired chemical engineer with a knack for precision, and Brian, a seasoned entrepreneur with an eye for business, found themselves brainstorming in the midst of a lockdown on the historic Barondale Estate.
The estate, with its sprawling grounds and a long-abandoned chapel at the edge of the property, seemed like the perfect place to begin their unexpected journey into the world of distilling. With its thick stone walls and high ceilings, the chapel transformed into a state-of-the-art vacuum distillery. It was a fitting place for what would become the birthplace of the Barondale spirits.
The duo spent months researching, experimenting, and sourcing ingredients. After many complications and late nights, they finally succeeded in creating their first batch of Navy-strength alcohol. This was no small feat. Every step, from refining the distillation process to perfecting the flavor profiles, was an adventure filled with challenges—but also triumphs.
But crafting the alcohol was only part of the vision. The pair wanted their product to stand for something—something that reflected the character of the land they called home. As owners of a small farm populated by alpacas, among other animals, Peter and Brian decided to incorporate this unique aspect of their lives into the brand. Thus, the animal theme was born.
Soon, the Barondale brand came to life: **Lord Barondale Vodka**, **Lady Barondale Pink Gin**, and **Lady Barondale Gin**. Each spirit not only carried the name of nobility but also a sense of connection to the estate's rich history, the animals that roamed its fields, and the determination of two men who refused to sit still during trying times.
Today, the Barondale spirits are a testament to ingenuity, resilience, and the belief that from unexpected circumstances, great things can emerge. Whether enjoyed neat or in a cocktail, these spirits tell a story—one of tradition, innovation, and the timeless beauty of the Barondale Estate.
